Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Foundation Review

Hey lovelies! Welcome back to Kessley Nicole! Today I will be reviewing the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation. Yes, I know it’s a bit late, but I’ve been eyeing this product for a while, and finally got color matched and bought one at a Sephora in France. So I’ve decided to review it!

For starters I love the packaging! I love the packaging of the whole line so far! (I should probably note that I also have a few other pieces from the collection: the primer, three of the Match Stix (Conceal, Contour and a Highlight),  the Stunna Lip Paint, the Gloss Bomb Lip Gloss and a mini Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter-If you all want me to, I’m happy to do a review on the collection as a whole). One thing I will mention however is that the bottle is made from frosted glass (or very hard plastic-I’m not sure) and it makes the color appear lighter than it actually is.

I started by applying the primer to the whole of my face and neck area. The primer has a bit of a sticky or tacky consistency, which I didn’t mind. I love the smell and the color. It has this blush pink color which is throughout the packaging and themes of the collection. So far I quite like the primer.

As for the foundation itself, I started by putting a bit of it on my hand. The consistency of the product is slightly liquidy, which made it difficult to apply as it also dried quickly. I found it easier to blend with my blending sponge than with a brush, which is fine, but it did take me a minute or so to realize this.

The color however did catch me off guard. When I first was color matched in Sephora, I wasn’t really sure if the color was correct, and there were a lot of colors missing (tester bottles). So while I couldn’t see a clear difference between the color that I bought and my natural skin tone in the actual store, when I got home and put a bit on my hand-it looked like I had tanned in a matter of seconds. It’s not a noticeable color difference though-it’s just something to watch out for when buying makeup generally (especially foundations).

I do quite like the finish of my skin when the foundation is on. Depending on how many layers you apply, it can either be medium or heavy coverage. I did try again to apply the foundation, but instead I put a few droplets of the foundation onto my foundation brush and then applied it to my face. This method worked much better and I got so much more even coverage. The color is still off, but it isn’t necessarily noticeable and it can always be lightened with either a bit of moisturizer or a lot of powder.

So on the whole, I do like this product! I would recommend that you do buy the correct color (there are so many to choose from, which is just frankly amazing) and I would definetly buy again (which I do plan to do: just in the correct color)

What do you think? Have you purchased any of the Fenty Collection yet?

Love ya!

Kessley Nicole 2018 Relaunch: Lipstick 101 with Kess

As someone who doesn’t wear lipsticks a lot, I own way more than I should! On the other hand, when I do find a good lipstick that I like, I am way too quick to purchase it (even if I go home and find out that it is too bold to wear on a daily basis). So here’s a peek into my lipstick collection! All products mentioned are linked down below.

So the first one is actually from Avon. It is their Ultra Colour Rich Mousse Lipstick in the colour D052. It’s a really nice consistency and the colour is a nice pale nude, that works wonderfully on my skin tone. It’s a bit glossy, but it’s perfect for everyday wear.

My second lipstick is the Kiko Milano Metal Lipstick in #9. I love red lipsticks-they’re so bold and this one is a perfect example of that. I normally wear this one for dance, as there are small bits of glitter in the formula, making wearing it a bit uncomfortable and removing it quite difficult. I do love how pigmented it is and the price. I paid a little over £3 (maybe £4) for this lipstick.

Next up is another Kiko Milano lipstick. This one is the Smart Fusion Lipstick in #431. The Smart Fusion Lipstick is one of my favourites off this list because the formula is just perfect. It is so soft and slightly glossy and easy to remove. I love this colour, because it’s a bit dark but still light enough that I can wear it when I’m out with my family. Again, I love the price, I paid a little less than £4 for this one and yet it’s still one of my favourites!

I’ve actually decided to include two of my favourite liquid lipsticks (because they’re still lipsticks).

So for the first of the liquid lipsticks, I have this one from smashbox. This is the Always On Liquid Lipstick. I know it’s a tester size, and because I love it so much I’ve decided to include it in my order to Sephora. I love this lipstick because it doesn’t dry out your lips and lasts all day. The colour I have is Driver’s Seat. While the colour isn’t ideal on my skin tone, it may work for others, and the formula is still one of my favourites!

Lastly and probably my favourite lipstick in my collection is the Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Colour. There is only one colour in which the Stunna Lip Paint is available in and that is Uncensored, which is a universal red colour. First of all, I love this liquid lipstick because it is so pigmented and the colour is just perfect. One swipe and you’re good to go. The wand of it is a bit different to the usual wand shape for a liquid lipstick but it works really well considering the liquidy consistency of the product. When I wear it, I find that it does not go everywhere or make that big of a mess so that is also a plus.

What are your favourite lipsticks/liquid lipsticks? Any brands that you rely on for those types of products? Let me know down in the comments!

Kessley Nicole 2018 Relaunch: My Pamper Night Essentials

Hi guys! What do you think of the relaunch so far?

School has been stressful lately (you know GCSE’s and all), and I’ve recently found myself needing to relax more frequently! My favorite time for a pamper night is on Friday nights when I get home from dance or on Sunday evenings before I go to bed, What are your favorite pamper night products? Let me know in the comments! Here are my pamper night essentials!

  1. Too Cool for School Face Masks: I love paper masks! And so for Christmas I was lucky enough to receive a set of Too Cool for School Face Masks! Each mask has its own specific use, so it depends on the day for which one I’ll use. But generally, they’re great for all my skin needs, especially at my age!

  2. Atlanta Bath Co. Foaming Sugar Scrub (Pumpkin Spice/Blueberry Lemonade): My mom turned me onto Atlanta Bath Co. when she bought me their Cotton Candy Bath Truffles, and I love them. My mom also bought two of their foaming sugar scrubs, which I use all the time. They smell amazing and they leave your skin feeling super soft.                                my pamper night essentials final photos 2
  3. A Lush Bath Bomb: No pamper night is complete without a bath bomb! My favorite one so far is the Snow Fairy! Unfortunately, it is only available at Christmas so and I was lucky enough to receive one for Christmas so I’ve saved it to use on my birthday!my pamper night essentials final photos 8
  4. Stress Relief Candle: I think I have already raved about my love of the Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy collection, but this candle is amazing! I don’t ever actually burn the candle-I’m not allowed to, but I do love to smell it every once in a while-LOL. my pamper night essentials final photos 9
  5. Atlanta Bath Co. Cupcake Lip Scrub: In actuality, it’s my moms, but I still love it! It smells so good and leaves my lips so soft! It’s very similar to the foaming sugar scrub, except it’s for your lips! my pamper night essentials final photos 7

Travel Skincare Essentials

When I say I love flying, I mean I love flying. It’s that exhilarating feeling you get when you are so far off the ground and I…. I could go on forever about my love of flying. One downside however of flying is the tool that it takes on our skin. We all have products to combat so, and here are the products that I cannot fly without.

-Ted Baker Hand Cream: Being that the atmosphere is so much different when flying it dries my skin out, so having a nice basic hand cream works brilliantly to keep my hands from going dry and preventing my skin from becoming dehydrated.

-Vaseline: One of my all around favourite beauty/skincare products is Vaseline, so why wouldn’t I fly with it. Also the in-flight atmosphere not only dries out your skin but your lips as well so to keep them moisturised I use Vaseline.

-Arbonne Glossed Over Lip Gloss (Primrose): This is another one of my favourite beauty products. I love the colour and I think it’s always good to look presentable and so this product is a must have.

-Bath and Body Works Pocketbac: Sweet Pea: For those of you who go to school with me, you know I carry one in my blazer pocket because everything is dirty in especially in public places. So hand san is essential for flying and going through and airport in which thousands of people go through every day.

-Ted Baker Body Spray: Another product that I love is this Ted Baker body spray. It isn’t really a skincare necessity but it is one of my favourite products, and it smells great.

Inflight skincare is so important, so make sure you take care of your skin on the ground and in the air!

My Skincare Routine

Hi all! Today’s blog post is my skincare routine. I have noticed that when I do actually follow through with it, my skin ends up feeling silky smooth and my skin looks much clearer than it is. I thought I would share and give you some inspiration.

So in the mornings when I wake up, after I brush my teeth and such, I wash my face with Cetaphil. Then I put on my Ambi Essentials Daily Moisturizer. After this, I will put my Hydration Lotion (its nothing special) on before I put on my clothes. During the day, if I feel that my hands are really dry or something then I will put a bit of lotion on, but otherwise, that is my skincare routine in the morning.

On freshly washed skin, I will put on some more of my hydrating lotion. After that, I will repeat the same routine that I did in the morning with my Cetaphil face wash and then my Ambi Essentials Daily Moisturizer. This locks in the moisture for the rest of the night so that even when I wake up in the morning, my skin is just as moisturized, as it was when I went to sleep.

Here are the products that I have used in this blog post:

  • Ambi Essentials Daily Moisturizer
  • Cetaphil Daily Face Wash

I am certain that you can find them all on Amazon. I hope you liked this blog post stay tuned for next weeks issue.
